Buster Mayberry Case Group

Spend five weeks getting to know Buster Mayberry, a long-time loyal supporter of High State University. With a small group of peers, you'll discover and respond to Buster's goals for family and philanthropy.

What to expect when you join a Buster Mayberry Case Group

This is not a MOOC! Each Buster group includes just ten people. You'll get to know them well as you learn together.

Expert advice. Each group is facilitated by experienced gift planners, who will help you analyze the case, post queries to challenge your assumptions and answer all your questions.

A little homework. The group lasts for just five weeks. During that time, you’ll have weekly reading assignments that will take an hour or less to complete. You’ll want to finish the reading before the group’s webinar meet-up so that you can participate in the discussion.

Active participation. Before you join the group, be sure you can attend all five pre-scheduled webinars. The actual case will be released in installments during these meet-ups, so you won’t get much benefit from the group if you can’t attend.

A long-term community. When the five weeks are over, we’ll move you into an alumni group. There, you can continue to discuss the Buster case and anything else that’s going on in your work with your own case group and other Buster alums. Buster case facilitators will also join the alumni community.

An opportunity to give back. In your own work, you’ll meet people just as interesting and complicated as Buster Mayberry. If you submit a donor story for possible case development, we’ll enter your name in a drawing for a free registration to the National Conference on Philanthropic Planning. Click here to read the guidelines and submit a donor story.

Please register for this case group. Watch for announcements about upcoming case groups. A maximum of ten participants will be accepted into each group. Once you get a confirmation of your case group dates you will be placed into the case group in CGP Link. This is where you find case information, pre-work, weekly call-in information, and a discussion forum to engage with other course participants. This case group is approved for 1 hour of CFRE.
