Sharing the Legacy: Promoting Gift Planning Through Trustee Engagement
The Nature Conservancy's Trustee Legacy Ambassador program was developed in 2008 to increase board member familiarity with and support for gift planning among our Trustees, using a variety of techniques to increase their engagement with legacy giving. Since then, the percentage of trustees who have included the Conservancy in their estate plans has grown from 10.7% to 32%. This presentation will describe the Trustee Legacy Ambassador model and focus on sharing best practices for engaging trustees in planned giving. It will include sample call scripts, letters, talking points, goal setting tips and success measurement examples and may provide perspective from a Trustee Legacy Ambassador.
