Biography
Trina S. Olidge, J.D., FCEP brings depth and understanding to a changing academic landscape with nearly 20 years of experience in both public and private institutions, including minority serving and large research organizations. In her current role as Executive Director of Gift Planning at Emory, she serves as philanthropic advisor educating donors on charitable giving vehicles and tax strategies that align with their values and goals for giving. Previously, Olidge served as Director of Gift Planning at Georgia Tech, but her career in fundraising has deep roots and can be traced back to academic medicine, legal education and even independent schools. She got her start in higher education at Tulane Law School as assistant dean of external affairs & diversity, building on previous stints in the financial industry, international consulting and law. Olidge is a proud graduate of Howard University and the University of Georgia, School of Law. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, a term that began January 2022. Olidge serves on the finance & investment committee and was recently appointed to the newly created governance committee. She served previously on the DEI task force, and remains committed to diversity in the profession. Also a fellow in charitable estate planning (FCEP) and member of the Louisiana State Bar (inactive), she recently concluded a four year term as chair of the Advocacy, Policy & Ethics Committee for the local chapter of AFP. Olidge lives in Atlanta with her husband and two teenage children. Inspired by the example of her parents, both of whom are retired college professors, she brings authentic passion and commitment to the pursuit of excellence in higher education.
