Facing Claims of Undue Influence in Bequest Litigation
Description of Presentation 3
This presentation will offer practical guidelines for charities on the risks, benefits and strategies of bequest litigation. Sometimes, charities initiate these cases. But more often, they are forced to participate in them. Attendees will come away with an enhanced understanding of the difference between “bequest cultivation” and “undue influence” and the specific behaviors that put the charity at risk of being an “undue influencer.” We’ll also consider the pros and cons of entering into litigation: deciding whether to take the plunge.
